Did You Hear About Chuck's Funeral Plans?

We will have viewing session for family and friends tomorrow night from 6 pm to 8 pm. There will be a lot of people who can come to such a meeting to offer their condolences, who cannot get off from work to attend the memorial service on Friday afternoon. That service will be graveside only, as Chuck did not like long and formal ceremonies, especially for the little ones.

Did You Hear About Camp Lonehollow?

Archie Brown has been attending texas summer camps, either as a camper or volunteer counselor for more than forty years. Most of his experience has been at a camp between Bandera and Medina, or at a camp in the Hill Country north of Austin, between Round Rock and Marble Falls. But those camps are rather primitive compared to Lonehollow camp, between Vanderpool and Utopia!

The owners of Lonehollow have a combined fifty years camping background, which makes Archie more confident they know what they are doing! Lonehollow offers all the typical camp experiences, horseback riding, two private lakes, hiking around the 3000 acre camp grounds, and more. Plus, unlike any camp Archie ever attended there are pillowtop mattress and granite showers!

If you would like to register here are the dates and prices. For more info, call 830-966-6600!

Did You Hear About Grandpa Charlie?

The news turned out to be as bad as you imagine when you receive a call in the early morning. Ronda rushed to the hospital, only to find that her step father had already passed away. He had been talking to the nurse one minute, and went into cardiac arrest the next--and was gone!

We will miss you Charlie!

Did You Hear About Singapore Blogs?

Such a coincidence for Archie Brown, he just returned from the travel agent, picking up airline tickets to Singapore, only to find an opportunity to write about Singapore Blogs. Archie and his wife will spend the summer with their daughter, who has been living in Singapore for over fourteen years. They will be staying in their daughter’s flat near Marsling MRT station.

Archie can’t wait to tell his daughter, Elizabeth, about SGBlogs.com. that presents the best of all the blogs in the “Singapore blogosphere”. It will no doubt help Shelby keep abreast of everything that is going on throughout Singapore, and not just in the Woodlands!

Did You Hear About The Early Morning Phone Call?

Archie Brown's wife, Ronda had just risen for the day at 5:45. The phone rang--not a good thing so early. It was Ronda's mom, Margie, calling from the hospital, where her husband, Charlie, had had surgery yesterday. She asked Ronda to come to the hospital at once.
Ronda left with a sense of dread.

Did You Hear About Bill O'Reilly?

Archie Brown watches Bill O'Reilly on television, to see the bluster and to hear the takes that the man has. He is a convicted man. Archie does not agree with all the take or convictions, but there is little doubt where he stands on issues. Archie wishes that politicians would be as up front and forthright.

Did You Hear About My Lazy Morning?

Archie Brown's wife, Ronda, took their youngest grandson, Zip, to a birthday party at 9 am today. That left Archie and Zip's bigger brother, Andy, to fill the morning. THey walked over to the donut shop across the street. Then they walked home and popped the DVD of The Magnificet Seven in the player.

Such as stressful time!

Did You Hear About My New Voice Recognition Software?

Archie Brown just installed a new voice recognition soft ware on his computer at work. It is by Nuance. The name of the program is Dragon Naturally Speaking. It is able to recognize the spoken word and type it into a document at the rate of 160 words per minute. Arch thinks it will be a real time saver once he masters it.

Did You Hear About The Galveston Daily News?

Archie Brown lives in Galveston County, in Texas. Today he began a subscription to the Galveston Daily News. He was pleasantly surprised when the paper was in the exact spot he had asked for it to be thrown. A nice touch. The paper is small, but covers the iisues and activities of the area where Arch lives, so he is satisfied so far.

Did You Hear About The Change at Erroll Le Vant's Blog?

Archie Brown heard from a friend about a change on the web log of Erroll Le Vant. Archie has been fascinated by the name, which when pronounced quickly says “irrelevant”. So he very was interested to see what Erroll Levant was going to do to become more relevant!

Did You Hear About Our Day of Worship?

Archie and Ronda Brown enjoyed Sunday. It was a great day of worship at the congregation where they worship. The preacher today really challenged and inspired the assembly. Then the fellowship meal was excellent, as always. The ladies of the congregation can really cook. Archie loves the desserts. And he thinks it is his Christian duty to make all the cooks feel good by eating some of every sweet treat.
