Did You Hear About Burn Notice?

USA Network's Burn Notice will make its debut on June 28, and Archie Brown thinks it looks like a lot of fun. Jeffrey Donovan plays a CIA agent Michael Westen. He is scheduled to be burned, eliminated. He has to figure out who triggered the burn notice and has to stay alive with no help from anyone.

Archie Brown loves this kind of scenario, whether it be in books or movies or an original television series like the one about to be begun on USA network. Archie sometimes day dreams of being such a resourceful man, who can survive on his wit's and his charm and his personal strength both, physical and emotional. He sometimes portrays himself in his daydreams as cold and without remorse as he steals and kills and connives his way through bad situations. Other times he sees himself as suave and able to charm and outwit those in his daydreams who oppose him.

Of course if Archie Brown actually got a burn notice from the CIA, he would probably wet his pants!

The Burn Notice premieres next Thursday at 10/9 central. It will also feature other well known actors likd Sharon Gless, Bruce Campbell and Gabrielle Anwar!

New Poets Now Playing!
Submitted by familyfunandfaith on Sun, 2006-04-30 19:02.

I did not like being the only
poet coming here so hopefully
to find no one else playing--lonely.
But I'm excited by new words--bully!

I want the new poets to be happy
in posting their works here aptly,
despite finding mine so sappy,
I will continue to read their raptly.

Life is too short to face it sourly,
because our best intentions can barely
hope to do better than take it hourly
having some fun and dealing fairly.

I'd love to express thoughts
Submitted by familyfunandfaith on Thu, 2006-03-09 06:11.

I'd love to express thoughts that are profound,
that would draw people to seek an adventure
or work to unravel a puzzling mystery.
I usually feel strongly that my ideas are sound,
so when I offer them up, it is with a passion.
Revealing your heart in writing can be risky
because there is always someone who is certain
that there are much better ways to be found!

There once was a goofy young fellow
Submitted by familyfunandfaith on Tue, 2006-03-07 16:38.

There once was a goofy young fellow,
who wore a bow tie round his neck.
He used a straw to consume his Jello.
Manners for the table? Not a speck!
You had to be ready when you said hello,
cause he threw tomatoes by the peck.
When he saw accidents happen he'd bellow
at the poor guy who'd been in the wreck.
He should have taken up poetry or cello,
to bring some peace to his life trek!

Did You Hear About 1408?

When he was a little boy, Archie Brown loved to go visit his older cousins. At night, when all the boys were in their beds, the big guys would tell spooky stories about escaped convicts, or the man with the golden arm! Archie would pull the covers up to his nose and tremble, but he loved to hear the stories. Later, when he joined the scouts, he loved the campfire stories, even if, or especially if, the stories terrified him.

Archie has never seen had a real life incident with the supernatural, but he loves to be scared by stories or movies about such topics! He can hardly wait for the release of the new 1408 Movie which is based on one of those spooky Stephen King short stories.

Starring in the movie are John Cusak and Samuel L. Jackson. Archie saw the trailer. He has posted it here so you can see it. But if you are easily spooked, maybe you should consider covering your eyes and sliding down in your chair when you click to start it playing.!

The plot of the 1408 Movie is that a certain room, number 1408, in a hotel in New York City has a connection to the supernatural. Over the room’s history, fifty six people have died there. John Cusak’s character, who appears to have something to prove, decides that he can withstand the curse. He rents the room, against the advice of the Jackson character. Archie can feel the excitement rising as he thinks about the next scary movie he will see.

Looking in the Dictionary
Submitted by familyfunandfaith on Sun, 2006-03-05 01:01.

Does looking up the word make me sedulous,
or in some way help me overcome the prejudice
against the need for a dictionary, I'm fanatic
on the matter, some would say even dogmatic.
I think believin was trying to instigate
anger, with the carelessness of a potentate.
When comes to a shove or a push,
She must think she's kin to George Bush!

Did You Hear About My Smelly Office?

Archie Brown walked into his office today to pick up a few papers to work on during the weekend. He found that there had been a leak in the roof just over his office and his carpet was wet and smelly. Did the best he could to get the water up, and put a big fan on it to dry things out. But now he is wondering what the office will smell like on Monday!
