I picked up a used book

I picked up a used book
and gave it a a quick look.
The title character was a Heller,
who cherished his own space.
A gal he met wore tights, no lace.
The hero was uneducated as a speller,
but he could make bad guys wince,
& for their crimes he would rinse
away any thought of their gain.
When bullied he would roust
his avowed enemies to joust
or hightail it all the way to Spain.

(there is a Louis L'Amour novel called Heller with a Gun, that was made into a movie, with Anthony Quinn, called Heller in Pink Tights)
